Memorial Day, we here in Falmouth take great pride in paying homage to our beloved veterans. Their endeavor to give us the very precious freedom that we enjoy today is beyond any comprehensible human thought. Words come to mind……..honor, gratitude, respect, and maybe just a nod: ‘we understand’.

Every Memorial Day Falmouth pays tribute to it’s honored veterans on the library lawn at Memory Lane. It is always a pleasure to mingle with the throngs of people who come out to pay their respects. Young, elderly and even little ones in strollers. Each and everyone have their thoughts and memories and we all leave with a lighter heart.

As you stroll by Falmouth’s Bed and Breakfast properties, you will see their revered American flags honoring, in supreme appreciation, those who gave of themselves so that we might live in peace.

It has been quite a winter here at The Inn At Siders Lane. The blizzard was very kind to us, had power and most blessedly…heat, but did take out two of our favorite trees, a Mulberry and Hawthorne. Just purchased new mattresses/pillows and a new line of linens for our guest rooms in anticipation of our upcoming season.

Despite Mother Nature and her whims, Falmouth has been bustling. We are very excited about the new French Patisserie that has been ‘tres’ busy since moving in – a must try. A new restaurant, The Pickle Jar is just wonderful – tables at the windows are very popular and always full. Looking forward to our new English Pub that should be opening soon.

Looking forward to our 10th season as the innkeepers here at Inn At Siders Lane. For something that had not been part of ‘the plan’ for us, it has been a very exciting and rewarding undertaking. The folks who have come through our door have been just……….wonderful……..many of whom have returned frequently which makes us very happy.

Spring is officially here: “The rebirth of everything new”!!

Venus and Jupiter are still guarding the celestial canopy that brings peace and comfort to us each evening.

Days are longer, boat trailers can be seen headed to the harbor in anticipation of that much awaited summer sail.

Our beautiful beaches are being groomed for that first dip and sheer relaxation during those warm, sunny days.

Summer theaters are shooing away the cobwebs in preparation for the array of talent coming from everywhere as they entertain us with their profound performances.

We are looking forward to our upcoming season and the pleasure of meeting new faces and greeting former guests.

Welcome to the “Premier Blog” of our new Website. We are very excited about the flexibility, functionality and overall feel of our site.

Mother Nature has bestowed her kindness upon us folks who have wintered here in Falmouth. Plowing has been at a minimum as we have experienced mostly rain with maybe a few inches of snow here and there.

We are anxiously awaiting our beloved “daylight saving time” which brings back the song birds, buds on our beautiful trees and just around the corner……Spring!!

Just yesterday, gazing out the window of our sunroom, I spied our first ‘snowdrops’ inching their way through the soft earth with just a dusting of snow! Not too far from them in a sunny corner – a peek from our daffodils! And, yes, we smiled!!
